A theme park with a fairy tale theme. Rumour has it that it's where Walt Disney got his inspiration from?
We visited with 4 adults and children age 10,8,7,6 and 4 and each of us loved it and all felt catered for.
The place has such a lovely atmosphere, clean and friendly and we didn’t have to wait too long for any of the rides! We were there on the Monday, in the week leading up to Easter weekend.
We got there just before opening as you can wander round some parts or join a queue. We headed straight for Symbolica. A magical experience and a fun and gentle ride, a perfect start to the day.
Between us all we went on almost all of the rides, the firm favourite was Max and Moritz! (Max) A roller coaster with 2 trains, Max and Moritz. By the end of the day the children were staying on time and time again! A big hit with all ages.
Droomvlucht (dream flight) was another fave that the children were keen to go back on. Villa Volta 'Mad House' was fun!
The fairy tale forest was an enchanting experience and had we had longer we would have spent more time there. Different sections reflecting many fairy-tale, this would have been perfect had we had 2 days at the park. My 4 year old dragged me on the wooden rollercoaster. I was terrified! The list of rides and attractions are huge and range from gentle to white knuckle.
I found the snacks and drinks in the park to be reasonable, not as costly as the parks in the UK. And much more tasty! Lots of options for take away or dine in.
We took a picnic with us (provided by the hotel) and just bought some snacks.
It is completely doable in one day, if the queues aren't huge but 2 days would be perfect.
We took a rumble truck with us but they have pull along carts to hire. It was a lifesaver for all the bags and the occasional child, now that we don’t have the buggy.
We booked the Efteling small package at GuestHouse Hotel Kaatsheuvel which you can read about here. We then headed off the Roompot beach resort nieuwvliet-bad which you can read about here.
