Our Easter break 2023 was a trip to Holland inspired by Little Clogs.
We took the ferry Dover to Calais and headed up to Efteling theme park, roughly a 3 hour easy drive. We decided to break up the journey in Brugge. We parked just outside the centre and caught a bus in. We enjoyed a few hours wandering around, stopped for lunch at Otomat pizza and had waffles for dessert from a street stall. Once our legged were stretched and bellies full, we headed back to the car for 1 1/2 hours to the town of Kaatsheuvel. We were very much looking forward to the nights stay at Guesthouse hotel Kaatsheuvel. Just 10mins walk from the park. We got the deal, one night and park tickets, Efteling small. If you want the 2 days at Efteling (recommended) then book via @Littleclogs you get discount on the booking.
I cannot rave about this hotel enough! The first thing I will say that it caters well for families with more than 2 children! Any parents of 3 or more children will know how rare this is! I mean check out their rooms! Not only are they Scandi chic but they have multiple bed options whilst still looking amazing! The style and atmosphere in this hotel was fabulous, staff were so welcoming and beds so comfortable! The corridors were wide and housed a washer and dryer too! There is a bar and restaurant, child friendly with play areas inside and out. The internal courtyard has childrens play apparatus and a mini golf course. We had breakfast included, which was a delicious buffet, hot and cold. The most impressive part was that for a few euros extra, they give you a paper lunch bag, which comes with wooden cutlery and an empty plastic bottle. Then you can fill it with breakfast things, we made ham sandwiches and take it to the park with you. Such a fab idea and saved us a fortune on food in the park! There is a large free car park and a supermarket next door. The walk to Efteling is 10min, we left our car and bikes at the hotel and collected that evening. We only had time for one night here but we will absolutely be returning in the future! Read about our day in Efteling in our blog post ' Enchantinh Efteling'.
